Ever wonder what factors determine how often you should be posting to your social media accounts? Worried about overwhelming your audience with content?
Well, no two accounts are ever the same. So, here are some things to consider when figuring out your best posting ratio.
Social Platforms
It’s important to look at what social media platforms your business has the most engagement on. There’s no point in posting on platforms where you aren’t generating clicks or impressions. Once you have enough data to determine which platforms are working best for your business, then you can come up with a better posting strategy.
Also, when choosing the right platform, it’s important to look at what type of business you have. For example, if you own a clothing line, it’s probably best to have an Instagram page to give followers a visual representation of your products.
You’ll most likely be posting more frequently due to the number of clothing items you sell and what you want to feature for your audience.
What are You Trying to Achieve?
What are your social media goals? To increase engagement? Optimize sales? Simply share content and company updates? Your goals should determine the number of times you post.
For example, if your goal is to share weekly updates. Posting once a week will achieve that goal. If your goal is more in-depth and requires more work, your content schedule might require more posts per week.
It’s OK to Test Your Frequency
Nobody will ever know what the best posting frequency is right off the bat. Play around with your posting and see what works per platform, then come up with a more informed and data-driven strategy.
No idea where to start? Start with posting three times a week and see what happens!
